Drop Off and Pick Up Instructions for  the Jr. Honors Band, Orchestra and 5th Grade Chorus:  Please plan to park and escort your child to the front door.  The parking lot cannot accommodate a long drop-off line.  If there is a long line when exiting, please turn right on the drive leading to Carlin Springs and circle back around to avoid a back up from the left turn.

County-Wide Musical Ensembles

Online registration for the following county-wide musical groups is highly encouraged, but not required. You may download the registration forms and bring them to the auditions or complete the on-line registration.  See the appropriate group below for links to the forms. On-line registration will close at noon on the day prior of auditions.  Early registration is encouraged to allow organizers of the event ample time to prepare.  Students may still register on site on the audition date.

In addition to the online registration, you may download other supporting files for each group below, including sheet music, practice audio tracks and a virtual audition video.  Students who are unable to access the mp3 downloads may request a practice CD from their school music teacher. Please note that some users are unable to open audio files from an office network due to restrictions of that network.  Please contact your child's music teacher or Mary-Hannah Klontz, Arts Education Specialist, at 703-228-6171 if you have questions.  Please note:  All online registrations close at noon on each Audition date!

Instrumental Performing Groups

Membership in county-wide musical groups by is by audition.  Percussionists must audition on both snare and a mallet instrument.  Musical excerpts will be provided in advance by instrumental and vocal teachers in each school.  Students may audition for more than one ensemble, but if selected for more than one, will need to choose only one ensemble.

Middle School Choral students are invited to attend a practice session on the audition music above at 6:45 on November 30th at either Kenmore Middle School Black Box Theater (Kenmore, Gunston, Jefferson) or Williamsburg Middle School Auditorium (Williamsburg, HB Woodlawn, Swanson).   This practice will take place just prior to the Arlington Vocal Fest at these two locations at 7 p.m. where students are encouraged to stay to hear their peers perform.
