Each year the PTA receives more than $11,000 from local community support programs offered by Giant, Harris Teeter, Safeway and Target. REMEMBER: You must re-register your card every year to lend your support.

GREETINGS!
Thank you so much to all of our terrific parent volunteers for making this such a successful year for Yorktown’s PTA. Due to your good work we surpassed the fundraising goal of our “Phantom Pfling” fundraiser and were able to put these funds to good use in a variety of projects. And we did this with a record 773 members of the YHS PTA!
The PTA meets once a month, usually on the first Monday of the month, at 7:30 in the cafeteria. (We try to finish in one hour!) This provides an opportunity for the Yorktown parent community to come together and hear how things are going at the school and work together on projects to support the teachers and students in the school. By this time many of our students have developed a passion so we spend a lot of time on specific activities. PTA give us a chance to get together, hear from the principal and get an idea of generally how things are going at Yorktown.
At our April meeting we elected officers for next year:
- Herman Narcho - President
- Patti Rosenberg – Internal Vice President
- Emily Nack – External Vice President
- Darci Niestroy – Treasurer
- Lynn Stone – Recording Secretary
In addition to providing financial resources, YHS PTA members volunteer on projects to help further our student’s academic and emotional experiences at Yorktown. A complete list of PTA committees is under the “About the PTA” tab above - click on the the link for "Volunteer Positions".
